In May, German printing firm Heidelberg hosted a Packaging Day at their Wiesloch-Walldorf site. The special event, which was used to showcase the Primefire 106, was attended by over 400 people from the sector. The day, which used the tagline ‘think out of the box’ allowed the international guests to learn more about this new technology and the integrated offset and digital printing options the company has developed which will help companies achieve more dynamic packaging printing in the future.
Heidelberg’s CEO, Rainer Hundsdorfer, spoke to attendees of the event about the innovation of the Primefire 106 and how it will help improve productivity in the sector as well as aid companies’ performances. He said: “With this range, Heidelberg cements its position as the leader in packaging printing and provides answers to current and future requirements in the age of digitisation. We make our customers more productive and therefore also more profitable.”

As well as showcasing new technology throughout the day, the event also gave guests the opportunity to learn more about the products and printing solutions that Heidelberg can provide. There were three special sessions covering the themes of ‘Operational Excellence’, ‘Packaging as you Like’ and ‘Special Applications’. These allowed attendees to learn more about the potential of the different systems and understand more about how these could be used in their businesses to aid performance and productivity.
