JOPPOL'S INTRODUCTION TO "FIRST CLASS" UV PRINTING
We contacted a Printing Machinery Broker here in Poland to source our company a CD102-6LX with UV interdeck drying. After initial offers of around 5 or 6 machine's we came across a company in the UK called BBR who were offering a CD102-7PLX with perfercting after the Classic Speedmaster unit which was ideal for Greeting Cards. We discussed the possibility and had not been able to quote on a job previously and thought it maybe advantageous to quote on this type of print so we arranged an inspection through a Salesman at BBR Steve McDonaugh. We sent an Heidelberg technician to do the print test along with a printer we had employed solely for UV printing and on inspection the print test didn't quite go to plan as there seemed a problem on the press so we went to BBR's factory to analyse the print samples and to see their engineering facility which was quite amazing as we were unaware there was such a Used Printing Machinery supplier. On arrival at their factory we met the Managing Director, David Ross, who is still a technician at the company and went through the print samples he highlighted the problem to our technician and assured the problem would be rectified in the Refurbishment process and would guarantee the press would print and register. On his say so and the agreement of the guarantee we purchased the machine immediately. Eight weeks later BBR's team arrived with the machine on their own lorries and began the installation including our printer while doing this to ensure they had as much knowledge of the machine as they could possibly have before BBR left us to our own devices. They included in the price full demonstration of two weeks which we have to say was with an excellent demonstrator who left no stone unturned and after leaving the factory we have had to call them once with a small problem which was rectified over the phone and are in full production and can say the press we purchased and the company we bought it from are first class.
